THE SITUATION
Since its inception in 1957, Consolidated Electrical Distributors (CED) has focused on meeting its customers’ electrical requirements – one customer at a time. Even though CED has one of the nation’s largest electrical distribution networks with over 500 locations from coast to coast, CED still does business based on the needs of the individual. The Phoenix, Arizona CED branch has a 25,000 square foot office/warehouse facility that was using 250W metal halide and 26W double compact fluorescent fixtures for lighting the outside of the building by entrances, stairwells and along the walls. Don McGrew, PC Manager, wanted to enhance the illumination to improve security and eliminate blind spots, and looked at SYLVANIA LED fixtures from LEDVANCE.
THE SOLUTION
After reviewing options, the traditional fixtures were replaced with energy-efficient, long-life SYLVANIA Wall Pack LED luminaires. These fixtures are used in existing or new construction applications and are ideal to illuminate building exteriors, outdoor corridors, walkways, and stairwells. “The light is really pristine and I am extremely impressed with the quality of the fixtures,” said McGrew. “This is the best the building has ever looked lit up.”
Delivering up to 80 percent in energy savings, the SYLVANIA Slim Wall Pack LED luminaires have a sleek design that can fit the look and feel of almost any building. They are available in 13W, 30W, 40W and 60W versions and deliver up to 112 lumens per watt (LPW). The SYLVANIA Wall Pack Cutoff LED luminaires offer up to 76 percent in energy savings and are available in 36W, 50W, and 75W versions, delivering up to 113 LPW. The housing fits the traditional wall pack footprint allowing for easy installation and minimizes light pollution with its cut-off design.
Available in 4000K and 5000K, the Slim and Cutoff Wall Packs are DLC listed, have a five year warranty, and assure optimum light engine performance for extended service and rated life (≥125,000 L70). Available with optional photo control, the LED fixtures are instant on/instant restrike and wet location rated, and have a wide operating temperature range -40°F to +104°F.
